About the Doctor

Dr. Betty Williams

Dr. Betty Williams is the founder and CEO of Comfort Zone Christian Counseling, Inc. The office was opened in August 2006, located in Largo, MD. She is a licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor and a Professional Clinical Member of the National Christian Counseling Association since 2006, with advanced certifications. She is also licensed with the International Clinical Pastoral Counselors Association in the office and work of the Gospel Ministry of Counseling.

Graduating with honors, Dr. Williams earned her PhD in Christian Counseling from the University of Family Bible in Baltimore, MD with a Masters in Divinity. She has completed studies at the School of the Prophets with Bishop R.S. Walker Ministries, Heritage Church International in Waldorf, Md, and presently she received her certification as a “Christian Temperament Life Coach”. Dr. Williams is also on the teaching staff at the University of Family Bible and has taught bachelors and masters classes.

Dr. William’s passion is to see God’s people healed and restored through Christian counseling. Helping each individual to understand who God created them to be and live a victorious Christian life. She has been called upon to speak at Cell Groups and Women’s Conferences throughout Washington Metro area, always keeping the scripture 2 Corinthians 1:4 present in every opportunity God places before her.

The people are edified and God is glorified.

Comfort Zone Mission Statement

My prayer as a Christian counselor is to be an effective counselor as I follow the Holy Spirit’s leading as each person is counseled. Helping hurting people is the primary reason for counseling and to see them delivered with love by the hand of God. Teaching that the answer to every problem in the world is answered by the word of God. As we let the fruit of the spirit flow through us we can touch lives one at a time. And with the help and the love of Jesus, bring deliverance.

Our goal is to help each couselee understand that they have a temperament that is unique to them. That it was given to them before the foundation of the world. And that each temperament has strengths and weaknesses. Each couselee will be taught how to deal with the inner man rather than outer manifestations or problems. Understanding who God created them to be will help them to live a victorious Christian life. They will understand their weaknesses and learn how to surrender them to the Lord, and with His help, learn how to develop their strengths.

In Hosea 4:6 the Bible states, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…” Having this new knowledge will not only draw you closer to the Lord Jesus, it will help you in your relationship with others.

Confidentiality Statement

Confidentiality and Mandated Reporting

This ministry operates under the clergy client confidentiality privilege, which means that communication between the client and minister of counseling is confidential. However, there are some exceptions when the counselor, without the consent of the client, may break confidentiality. These include reasonable suspicion of the threat of serious harm to self or others, child abuse, abuse to the elderly, or disabled, or when otherwise required by law. Reasonable suspicion is defined as, but not limited to, credible evidence that abuse or neglect has or may have occurred, that a threat of serious harm has or may occur, significant discrepancies in or significantly inconsistent explanations of injury. Reasonable suspicion means that there is enough credible evidence to cause suspicion and require investigation by the proper authorities.
